In Veenendaal, people from all corners of the world live side by side, and these workshops bring people together to share and experience those stories. We organize a diverse and inclusive program for adults: close to home, free of charge, and accessible to everyone.

Belly dancing

Tuesday, March 24 - 11:30 to 12:30 - Dance studio Spectrum

Let yourself be carried away by graceful movements, rhythm, and expression! In this belly dance workshop, you will discover the basic steps, hip movements, and arm techniques from Middle Eastern dance culture.

Dabke dance

Friday, March 27 - 7:00 - 8:00  - Ontmoetingshuis Oost

Discover the energetic Dabke, a traditional dance from Arab culture. Together we form a line or a circle, stamp our feet to the rhythm, and build connection and teamspirit.

Bollywood dance

Monday, March 30 and April 6 - 6:30 to 8:00  - Communitycenter De Driehoek

Step into the colorful world of the Indian film industry! During this Bollywood dance workshop, we combine expressive hand gestures, energetic choreography, and cheerful music.

Henna art

Wednesday, April 1 - 1:30 to 3:30  - OnderOns

Create your own work of art by decorating a candle with henna patterns while enjoying Moroccan mint tea and delicious treats. You can even have your own hand decorated with beautiful henna art!

Cultural cooking

Friday, April 10 - 6:00 to 7:30 - De Binnenronde

In this cooking workshop, we will prepare a simple but delicious recipe from Indonesian cuisine. Meanwhile, we will share stories and traditions. A warm and flavorful meeting!

Final evening

In mid-May, the neighborhood program will close with a musical celebration. We will look back together on what has been created during all the activities. There will be music, including singer and musician Cheb Abdelghani, and plenty of opportunity to meet and mingle.
